Backups Lab: Backup Your Computer

Objectives

• Practice backing up files on your computer in class

What to do

You are going to need to a blank CD (or DVD if your directory is too big for a CD) to do this backup. Place the CD into your CD writer drive. Copy your entire home directory to that CD. Make sure you label your CD with what is on it and the date you took the backup. Keep your CD in a safe place so that if your computer in class ever fails, you can backup all the files you saved into your home directory.
