GASP Python Course Example Projects
Taylor Elementary School, Arlington, VA
Howard Batiste and Jeff Elkner ran an after school Python enrichment class
for 4th and 5th grade students at
Taylor Elementary School in
Arlington, VA. The class met 6 times on Thursday afternoons between October
15 and November 19, 2009.
This was our first experience teaching Python to elementary school students.
Coming from a high school environment, we weren't sure how it would work.
At the end of the 6 weeks, we would say that the experience was largely
successful. The kids got to apply their math skills in a way that will help
prepare them for Algebra and Geometry. Examples of the work they produced
are below:
